Not much of a hipster cafe nor a restaurant, but I'm guessing it's more of a club's cafe. Next / attached to Social Lab was what I saw screens showing the results of some horse racing tournament. Anyway, my sister found the place and we thought of giving it a try before we knew it wasn't a stand alone cafe.

Probably the only thing I love about the place - its landscape outside. Haha

Awkward turtle

Shortly after being seated, we were informed that everything was self-serviced. We then had to walk to the counter and order our food and choose our drinks ourselves from the fridge.

Confession: That night was my very first time having a Somersby. It tasted 90% apple juice, 10% alcohol although my dad was surprised when I told him I was able to taste the alcohol. #notyouraveragedrinker

Nasi Lemak

Some seafood platter which I can't really remember what it's called. A huge portion that was more than enough for the 4 of us.

Throughout the night, there wasn't many customers and majority of them opted for the private rooms. It was just so-so for me and I don't think I would come back here unless invited for a function to be honest. Haha. But there's no harm in giving it a try yourself!

If you're an Ipoh local, then you should know the location of the Tuesday night market behind Tesco. Tea Coffee Game which is also known as T.C.G. is located alongside where the night market would be.

We found a 3 course deal from Groupon and decided to give it a try. The deal was RM18 instead of RM40.60 per pax. Sorry, no front picture of the shop because I forgot to take one - as usual. Haha.

Anyway, upon entering the shop, we were the only customers there and that lasted out the whole night! Felt a little creepy but at the same time, we got to maximize their service as they were only serving our table.

Board games are available for you to play and entertain yourself while waiting for your food to be served.

Tissues and plain water are self serviced as well.

Soup of the day - Mushroom Soup

Salad of the day - Salad Bowl

Fettuccine Carbonara with Pork Bacon

BBQ Pork Loin with Rice

Home-cooked Curry Chicken with Rice

Dessert of the Day - Ice Cream with Strawberry (I think, heh)

As for drinks, we were given the choice of Ice Lemon Tea or their Signature Drip Coffee. But we opted for other drinks on the menu and it was allowed without extra charges!

Overall, I would give this place a 3/5. Food was alright but service was a little slow. Head over to Groupon now and get yourself some vouchers and try it for yourself!

I've never thought that I would give Indonesian cuisine a try. Heck, I have never thought that I would actually enjoy eating it. Mainly because my perception of Indonesian food would be spicy. My experience dining in Naughty Nuri's was an experience that I proved myself wrong!

It was a Sunday night but that didn't affect the crowd from coming to dine in this restaurant! This is towards the inside of the restaurant, whereas we were seated at the balcony section of the restaurant. It was cooling and it wasn't too hot to the extend of sweating. Throughout the night, Samba music was played and their selection of songs were really good. We don't usually listen to Samba and obviously, we didn't know what the songs were but we ended up Shazam-ing so many of it because it was that enjoyable. On top of that, the staff were all friendly and service was quick. The fact that the staffs were all so sporting just makes the whole experience so much more worthwhile.

There were 3 birthday celebrations that night and birthday song-mashed-with-Samba will be played every time when a table was presented with a cake. Also, the staffs would randomly dance at a random time while their customers indulge in their meals - similar to what Johnny Rockets does.

Naughty Nuri's Signature Ribs

This was my first time having steak and it was delicious! It wasn't too dry, and the meat was pretty tender with a tad of crisp on the top. There were huge bones in it as well but it was easily removed.

When you realize bones can turn you into a monster #lamecaption

Nasi Goreng

The fried rice was good as well and the portion was huge! I guess it's best to share the dishes than to order individually because it's all better to be stuffed with varieties than to be stuffed with only one.

Cozylicious Salmon

Yay! My favourite fish! Didn't eat much of this but it was nice as well.

Naughty Nuri's BBQ Pork Chop

The presentation looks plain and clean, and the portion for this dish is suitable for a personal meal.

Basically everything tasted so so good!

Shot by CANON EOS 550D

About 2 months ago, I decided to get myself a new compact camera. Prior to this camera, I was using the Sony a5000. However, the camera belongs to my family and I thought perhaps I should get one for myself instead of hogging their camera all the time. Yes, I do have a DSLR which is the CANON EOS 550D. However, I would prefer a more compact camera if I am not out for a photography event or an occasion which requires a super high resolution images. Also, I have started vlogging and I have been looking into buying a camera that has a good built in stabilizer. After doing lots of research, I finally settled on CANON G7X.

This model has 2 different series. There's a full black one, or the limited edition model - black body with pink rims around the lens which is the one I bought. The price offered to me then was RM1,899 and RM1,999. The difference? The one I got comes with a pouch specifically for the camera whereas the full black one does not have - main reason why I got the limited edition model instead.

As a photography enthusiast (sort of), I am amazed by the amount of functions that this camera has.  I can play around with manual setting now without actually using my DSLR! However, if you're wondering does this camera has a beauty mode, the answer is no.

Of course, the camera comes with 180' flip screen as well.

Before purchasing the camera, I've read reviews that the battery drains out like waterfall. There were extreme reviews where the battery only lasted them 2 hours, and those who travels often, they're required to purchase extra 2 batteries to last them through the day - I can't imagine charging 3 camera batteries per night during travels. Unless they have 3 battery charger then it's logic I guess.

Personally, I do not know how true all of that is. As of today, I have not traveled anywhere where I took pictures / vlogged the entire day. The longest it has been used is about 6 hours (photos & videos) during my birthday party and yet, the battery indication showed that it is still full. So, perhaps I'll update more about this the next time I go for travel with the camera.

Overall, I find this camera pretty good. As compared to the previous camera that I was using which is the Sony a5000, CANON G7X isn't as vibrant in terms of picture colour. Also, G7X is not an interchangeable lens camera. Hence, if you're someone venturing into photography like seriously and would wish to buy new lenses in the future, it's better to opt for an interchangeable lens camera and that's my next target! Can't wait till I have the best of both worlds - a nice camera for photo taking and a good vlogging camera which I already have!
