If you don't already know, I have been quite a stationery junkie since schooling days. Nothing beats the satisfaction of entering a stationery store or department, seeing all the well organized things on the shelf and aisle. My addiction for stationery (notebooks and journal in particular) spiral out of control these past few months. Why? Well, all thanks to calligraphy, I ended up subscribing to a few YouTube channels on bullet journaling and of course calligraphy. So, I didn't just picked up calligraphy but also an interest in journaling which actually has helped me to stay organized and to practice attempting things one at a time (breatheeeeee).

It's now December (oh how time flies) and of course I am on a hunt for the perfect journal to kick start the new year! Lucky for me, Christmas came early this year because ana tomy is in town! When I first heard of their brand and the fact that they customize journal, I went nuts and pretty much made my way to the city the very next day!

They'll be having a booth in Kinokuniya, KLCC till 20th December 2018!

The booth was pretty interesting and everyone was very well guided through the steps. Just imagine a buffet - you stand in a line and go along as the line moves taking your dishes - but instead of food, it's picking up the materials to create the journal of your dreams! That's like a plate filled with your favourite food, but in book form.

CREATING YOUR VERY OWN JOURNAL

STEP 1 : Choose Your Cover

Ana-tomy offers two types of covers - Paperbound (RM128) and Clothbound (RM148), and the prices are inclusive of everything! You'll be spoilt for choice with the selection of colors they have to offer for both types of covers. From quirky to corporate colours, they have it all!

STEP 2 : Choose Your Inserts

Here, you'll be dealing with a shelf filled with all sorts of inserts / page formats and you'll get to pick 6-7 packets of inserts of your choice. You'll be given a measuring tool when you register. So as long as the number of packets you've chosen can all fit the measurement given, you're good to go. Grid lines, single lines, blank pages or even dotted lines for bullet journal geeks, they have it! There are also other types of inserts available such as calendars and habit trackers.

For me, I even requested to open up my selected packets and rearrange all of it according to the sequence that I want! I had it in my head that I would like it to be a monthly thing where each months is consisted of 2 different types of inserts........ - those kind of stuff - and I maxed out the nerd side in me.

STEP 3 : Choose Your Accessories

Colour of your choice on...

...bookmark ribbon...

...pen holder which also functions as the tool to lock in the whole book...

...binding ring...

...book band as well as the colour for your name stamping.

ROSE GOLD ALL THE WAY!

The pen holder is actually a part of a bigger piece at the back of the book which is also attached to the stack of bounded papers. This gives you the option to refill your papers (simply by removing the entire pen holder piece) while re-using your journal cover. You may buy the refills online / pop by their store in Selangor.

Each book comes with a complimentary inner front cover, owner's identity card, world map, table of contents page and labeling stickers.

THE PACKAGING

The packaging for the journal consist of only a big piece of recyclable-foldable cardboard. It gives a very minimalist & hipster vibe and saves you the time in wrapping or buying a gift bag / box for it.

I've been to this place for a few times now, but I was lucky to have captured a rare shot of the place as it's usually packed with people! The cafe is seriously #interiorgoals and the evening shadow casted at the place just made the shot even better! These photos are my current favorites in interior shots and they're just too pretty for not to be shared.

Aesthetics aside, the place serves pastries coffee, and tea. I had my first try of their chocolate croissant the other day and it was delicious. Ivan loves their coffee there and he often has their coffee to go. This place is just perfect whether you're meeting up a friend or simply to get some work done as they have complimentary WiFi and plug points are available. Their choices of song is amazing as well. I was there last December and they had Christmas acoustics and jazz on! (I'm a sucker for Christmas)

Hopefully I'll get a few more chances to be able to capture their pretty little cafe, and will definitely update the pictures here!

The parking now comes with a fee of RM3 if I am not mistaken.

My previous trip to Ipoh has given me some opportunity to catch up on the latest cafes around the city, and one in particular caught my attention for its minimalist aesthetics - Jln Theatre Coffee, Ipoh.

It is rather rare for Ipoh to have a cafe with a concept like this, and I must say I was pretty impressed. Jln Theatre Coffee serves mainly coffee and cakes. We opted for the tiramisu but it was sold out, and decided to go with the cheesecake, and it was delicious! Personally, I find it just nice and didn't think it was too strong or heavy by the end of it. However, it was shared between 2 person and I am someone who gets 'jelak' very easily.

The clean look interior makes it quite a nice spot for OOTDs too!

Originating from Kuching, Nuromen Cafe has successfully expanded their 2nd branch to Petaling Jaya! Located in Damansara Utama (Uptown), locals would know the hassle of looking for a parking around the area. But fear not, Nuromen Cafe PJ is also easily accessible by foot from The Starling mall.

Upon parking in The Starling Mall, make your way towards Samsung at Ground floor. Walk to the back towards the car park, and look for the escalator down to the streets. Turn right and walk for about a minute to two, and Nuromen will be just across the street.

From individual servings to a 4 person sharing hotpot, Nuromen offers a wide selection of pork free food choices with reasonable prices! I personally love their specialty here, which is the Beef Noodle Special (on the first page of their menu)! It was so comforting and homey to me despite not being a Sarawakian nor have I tried any Sarawak noodles before!

It was a slow Sunday afternoon when my sister and I decided to have brunch in this fairly new cafe in KL a try. We were lucky enough to have found a parking space very quickly in the alley behind the cafe.

The entrance up to the cafe itself has made such an impression that got us excited enough to see the inside of it!

I'd say they did a pretty good job with the interior that really lives up to the name of the restaurant!

A great place for some vintage feels portraits!

Linguine Beef Bolognese, The Ham-S.UP Croissant & Latte

Food was amazing and portion was just nice for me as an averagely small appetite eater. The beef bolognese tasted very homey and A++ for the unique presentation!

As for the Ham-S.UP Croissant, it's a new addition to their menu and was told that we were the very first customer to taste it. The dish is made up of croissant, ham, egg, their specialty cheese sauce & salad. The best part about the dish was the croissant which was very flavorful and the entire combination goes along very well.

The staffs were very friendly and even welcomed us to explore the entire place. The cafe is designed with empty and wide spaces with a mezzanine floor upstairs too to host small functions / events / parties.

Will definitely be back!

I TURNED 23!...

a month ago, but what else is new. Heh. Better late than never!

Beautiful sunset over dinner? Fuego is the place to go, and the place where I was brought to to celebrate my 23rd birthday this year, and my first birthday spent with Ivan.

Our reservation was at 6pm, but got there half an hour earlier. We were led to a waiting area and given a menu should we wish to have some drinks and snacks before the place opens.

At 6pm, we were then led to the restaurant but the sun was till scorching hot shining directly to our table. The staff there was kind enough to let us sit at a shaded table first while we look through the menu.

Mojito & Caipirinha

The view was so amazing! And it was so sweet of Ivan to remember why I wanted to go to a rooftop bar in Bangkok in the evening and not at night 😍 #browniepointsearned

Look at how hot and bright it was that evening. Sorry to whoever that is in the photo!

Such a beauty but what a shame half of the twin tower was blocked by a newly constructed building.

For starters, we ordered guacamole, and at the time when I found out I still do not like it.
(Do take note I am VERY picky and also only have a selection of few vegetables that I actually take)

The Fuego Guacamole

Am not a big fan of guacamole but Ivan enjoyed it thoroughly. And the chips was amazing even just on its own.

Fuego Ceviche

I have never had ceviches before prior to this. It was something new (and raw) and surprisingly I find it okay (because I do not take sashimi). Heh.

Salt Baked Potato & Foie Gras

A must try and have! Even the sauce was amazing! It's been a few years since I had foie gras and thinking about it is enough to make my mouth water!

Rare French Beef Flank

Chewy and satisfying! Portion is enough to be shared by 2.

Pressed Potato

Crunchy and super filling! It was good but it took us a while to finish this because we ordered so many other dishes! Would be just nice to include this in with just other 3 dishes but how to do it when everything is so delicious!

We spend a total of 2.5 hours there that day. And all of that while witnessing one of the most beautiful sunset I have seen in Malaysia to date!

Legit no filter at all! It was around 7.15pm when the sky just went bright pinkish-orange with a tinge of purple and blue! It felt like mother nature knew it was my birthday because even the waiter there told us it's usually never like this! Or maybe he said that because he knew it's my birthday 🌚

Right after we were done with dinner, Ivan insisted on me to choose a dessert, like we MUST end the dinner with a dessert of my choice. Deep down, I was half wondering if he pre-ordered a cake or something but since he asked me to choose it myself, I doubted it. But to my surprise, it was all planned that whatever dessert that I choose, it will be decorated as my birthday 'cake'! Super efficient service as this was arranged prior when Ivan called to make a reservation.

Mini Ivano Magnum

Liquid nitrogen was poured all over the dessert when it was served to create the fog effect, and the waiter made sure I had my camera ready before doing it. 😂

Blessed and happy for the effort put in to make my birthday a special one, and even more grateful to have you in life ♥️
