Tea & Tattle is located where Wong Kok in De Garden used to be. I didn't even know that Wong Kok closed down there and the lot is now taken over by a cafe. Since my mentioned about this new cafe here, my family decided to have our New Year's Eve dinner here.

It was pretty empty when we got there. It's actually completely empty as we were the only customer there. Perhaps we were just a tad early to come for dinner because after a while, a few more groups of people came in as well.

When we talk about 'cafes', the first thing that always (for me) comes into our mind is coffee but for this cafe, they specify more on their teas than coffees. They actually have an entire list of teas that they serve which can be turn into a booklet. No worries if you're not much of a tea person, as each of the tea on the menu is completed with sufficient explanation about the ingredients that are used to make the tea. The best part is that they actually have caffeine and non caffeine tea which is beneficial for tea drinkers like me. I'll usually have difficulty of trying to sleep at night if I consume tea for dinner or supper. Not all teas but some.

Our orders of that night was actually mostly recommended by who I presume is the boss/owner of the shop. He may be not, but he explained everything really well. Before proceeding with the post, I would like to first apologize that I do not remember the names nor the price of the dishes we had that night as some of my photos went missing (I must have either accidentally deleted it when I was cleaning up my photo storage) which contains some of the long names of the dishes as well as the receipt.

This is their specialty under the tea section. I don't remember what is it called, but it has a really minty taste and it's a non caffeine tea. The sandglass is actually to help us time the tea before drinking it which is 7 minutes. This is also not any ordinary kettle (or whatever you call that which is used for tea) but a very special one indeed. Maybe some of you might have seen it elsewhere but this was the first time for me. When using a usual kettle, you would pour the drink out from the top by tilting the kettle, right? But this kettle, you do not tilt it anyhow but you're suppose to just place it on your cup and the weight of the kettle is heavy enough to push the drink out of the kettle from the bottom and into your cup. It's basically like the kettle is sitting on the cup and the tea flows down from the bottom of the kettle. I remembered taking some photos of it but I don't know where has it gone. Sigh.

Sorry, woman :P

The stack of list of tea that they serve. It's like a book to me.

We were first served with this. It's prawns (huge ones) with either beef or chicken (can't remember which was it) in some sauce, some veggies and (sticky) rice. Not sure was the rice suppose to be like that or not, but the texture was like the rice they use to make sushis.

Then our 'breakfast' was served second. Mum ordered it from the breakfast list. Haha. I love the bread a lot. It tasted really fresh and crunchy. I might go back there for breakfast one day.

And then there's this dish. It's like chicken chop to me but my parents ate most of it. It was good tho for a person who isn't too big fan of 'chops'. Haha.

Dessert wasn't planned as it was on the house (not sure why). I think it was chocolate cake? And the doll-like looking thing on top is actually a strawberry with whipped cream decorated to make it look like a snowman or something. Haha. There was a lot of coco powder as toppings as well which I chocked on because I didn't know it was that much.

A simple looking cafe with good food is definitely on my list to visit it again.

11.30am - 10.30pm (Close on Mondays)

A couple of weeks back, I was just driving around Ipoh when I came across this newly opened cafe. It is located exactly behind the 7-eleven that is the same row of Something's Brewing which is at the opposite site of Festival Walk, Ipoh. I'm guessing it's new because it wasn't there before I went back to university and after a month, it's there. Dad had a company dinner last night, so it was just my mum and I, and we decided to have our dinner here.

Hehehe. Hi :3

Trio Mushroom Aglio-Olio - RM16
This pasta consists of 3 different types of mushroom and also, it's hot. I didn't knew it was going to be that spicy until I had the first bite of it. My mum tried it out and she said there's a lot of black pepper in the pasta that's why I find it hot. Luckily she ordered something not spicy and we swopped dishes.

Teriyaki Chicken & Zaru Soba - RM18
Not that I know of that there are any other places which serves the combination of chicken and soba together. The taste is just as good as how the picture looks like (if my foodography is attractive enough). Haha.

Had a great chat over dinner with my mum last night and then it was movie night with my dearest boo - Night at The Museum : Secret of the Tomb.

How I end up getting the tickets for the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) was a long story. It was initially an anniversary gift for boo but there was a change in plans. So, I changed the tickets to a show in December and lucky enough, there was something familiar that I have heard of before. It's a performance based on the movie Home Alone and decided to get it for both my parents as Christmas present. With a last minute planning, my grandma was (and still is) here in Ipoh to have a week stay with us and then my parents decided to get 2 more for my grandma and I to go as well. Hence, 4 tickets to the MPO on the night of 19th Dec 14'.

I saw photos from Google search that some people even dress up to the extend of wearing evening gowns to the MPO and I knew that was a tad too much. So, I decided on a dress, heels and basic make up. The mild hairdo was a last minute thing because there was no hair dryer in the service apartment and I didn't bring mine and all I brought was a curler just in case my hair was in a bad flow after drying it. Without the hairdryer my hair was in a total mess, so it was the curler to the rescue and it turned out this way. Feels like I was having poodle ears. Haha.

Upon arriving in KLCC, there was a group of carolers performing at the concourse but it was towards the end already. Nonetheless, they were good based on the short duration that I've got to watch before going for dinner at Ms. Kwan's because Madam Kwan was too full (as usual).

A little night stroll at the KLCC garden before making our way to the MPO hall.

My phone takes nicer night shots compared to my DSLR (under my handling because I suck) and no editing was needed.

#ootd shot by my mum while waiting for the doors to be opened for audiences.

Photography is strictly prohibited in the hall but knowing me being a rebellious human being, since when I don't break the rules. This was a quick-and-phone-blocked-using-my-body shot. Haha.

For the entire 2 hours, I was in awe from the performance of the orchestra (and the interior of the hall as well). It was a unique performance I would say because the entire Home Alone movie was shown on the screen minus the background music as the musics were being played live accordingly to the sequence of the show and the timing was perfect. The music was well blended with the movie as neither of the actor's voice nor the music of the orchestra was overpowering one another. You would actually thought you're watching a movie and forget about the entire orchestra in front of you if you're not much of a music person.

The entire performance was really lively, clean and well coordinated. They ended the performance with a bang and I had goosebumps throughout the entire performance. Now, I am addicted to the Home Alone theme song - Somewhere In My Memory - and it's on repeat on my iTunes right now.

The next day after breakfast, my family and I decided to head to IOI City Mall in Putrajaya (opened last month) to have a walk around. Little did I know, everywhere was on sale! It was like heaven to me and the shopaholic side of me resurfaced. *Oh no..*

First item bought was a watch. To be honest, I have never heard of this brand before but according to the salesperson, it's from U.S. and it was on offer - 15% off and an additional 10%. Got this watch for RM157 and I thought it was a good buy. Hopefully it'll not give me much problems. Haha. I love the design tho. Very much Daniel Wellington inspired except that it's not and I don't mind. Call me cheapo :P

Bought 2 pairs of new shoes for RM80. Luckily my grandmother saw the "2 for RM80" sign. If not, I would have just bought the black and white flats for RM59! These are from Cotton On and everything was super reasonable in there. Not sure is it the same for all outlets or only that particular outlet in IOI City Mall.

Of course, I'll never miss out clothing when it comes to shopping. These are all that I have bought throughout the past 4 days from My Home, Acewin, Dees, H&M and Cotton On. Decided to go for more basics this time as I would have more chance to wear them in campus and not just for special or specific occasions. Proud of myself that I resisted on buying everything I tried and only picked those that I know I'll wear on normal days with reasonable pricing. *pats own head*

Bought a new sling bag from Brands Outlet Store for campus/everyday use and also did a small charity on getting the 'owl bag' from Cotton On and that's the only owl that doesn't scare me away. Haha.

The day before my finals ended, my mum came to bring me out for lunch and we decided to head to MidValley. Upon arriving, we headed to the centre court to have a look at the christmas decorations. Yeah, it's like a thing to me this year; christmas decoration hunt.

Fantasized theme I guess, but sadly it lacks the christmas aura for me.

I prefer 'The Body Shop''s booth decorations.. (lol)

..as well as S&J's

Then, we headed to TGIF for lunch on a Friday. Yeah, we're living up to the restaurant's name. This is my second time having TGIF by the way. I know it's such a mainstream thing now to have meals there but then yeah, this is only my second time. First time I had it in Penang 2 years ago and 3 days ago, I got my second try of it.

Mom's chicken hot plate. It was still sizzling when this was served as well as when I was taking this photo and the oil keeps splashing everywhere and it got to my hand as well. At least this is a nice photo. Haha

I ordered Tennessee Salmon and it's lovely! Nope, did not eat the veggies; only the carrots - just being myself :P

We had a short walk in The Gardens as well and their decorations are a disappointment to me. This is the first time seeing mannequin dolls as a part of the christmas decorations until I realized that they were actually promoting the furnitures; not sure about the gowns but for sure the furnitures.

Yesterday before coming back to Ipoh, we stopped by KLCC to settle some issues regarding the MPO tickets which my parents, grandmother and I will be attending the Home Alone performance this coming Friday and the decorations are such a 'wow' to me.

A place where many memories were created and I miss them. Hope to have more of it soon enough.

I think the tallest christmas tree I have seen in Malaysia so far and it's so pretty! Wonder how would it look like when it's lid up at night. Guess I'll have to wait till the coming Friday to find it out.

Decorations at the main concourse. Very much the way I like christmas decorations to be!

A sleepy #ootd and I'm balding at my fringe parting. Ugh! Overslept that morning. Hence, the sleepy face.

Signing out. Cheers :)
